JOHNNY'S TATTOOS

A big thanks to A to Z Print Shop in Riverside California for doing a great job on these cards.

Aztec girl arm piece - Last Session - Gerry Ramirez

Fellow tattoo artist, Gustavo Lopez of Lowrider Tattoo Studios.
Just one of my memories in Southern California growing up seeing young California boys sportin' their last names, clicks, pride, and neighborhoods on their backs. Some things never change in Cali.

My good friend Rick came in to get this memorial tattoo of his daughter . R.I.P Ava.

" Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it". - Hardy D.Jackson

Danny Boy hard at work.

Lil B waiting to get some more ink by artist Miguel Ochoa.

My client Mae came in to get this Portrait of her boyfriend Rey, which was taken in his elementary school years. The day of school pictures, Rey's mom had told him not to wear the mickey mouse sweater he so wanted to wear but instead had chose for him a nice dress shirt. Picture time comes and Rey decides otherwise. He happily puts the sweater on and the picture is taken. Now a lasting memory.

CON SOFOS - IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE . WITH RESPECT

This past week I had the privilege to be featured in this book amongst other top tattoo artist such as Jose Lopez,  Chuey Quintanar, Jack Rudy and Tim Hendricks just to name a few.  The term "Con Sofos", is an  expression that came about in early 50's by Mexican in the southwest of the United States and has become an identifying symbol of Chicano culture.  Anytime Chicano culture is mentioned,  Con Sofos sprouts up: as a greeting, at the end of letters, in pictures, even tattooed fingers- C/S.  These two letters embody a sense of respect, honor, and pride for history of Chicano people". (Vialetto, Miki Con Sofos .   Milan- Italy: MEDIAFRIENDS SRL , 2012).

My Best Man at my wedding and childhood friend of mine, Jason came through to add a few more hours on this Jesus piece. I really enjoyed doing this one. One more session to go.

TUESDAY'S TUNE'S

WHAT I VALUE....

A close brush with death brought my client and friend, Frank, in to get this next piece. While driving on the freeway, another vehicle causes Frank to hit the center divider. An unavoidable accident that could have easily had a more devastating outcome. Walking away with minimal injuries feeling thankful and grateful  for another chance at life. Putting into perspective what is of value and importance.

A SON'S LOVE ......

Process

finished piece.

In memory of his father, Tony came in to add to his collection of tattoo art with a portrait to honor his Pops.  Added to the piece was a cross and Cuban chain link worn by his father which was given to him just before his passing . It's always an honor to create a memorial piece.
